About domAINE DENIS PERE & FILS
In 1940, Raoul Denis—a 3rd generation winemaker from the prestigious Hospices de Beaune—and his wife decided to buy a small plot of land and continue the family tradition. By 1972, their land had become a part of the Vergelesses appellation. Today, the winery sits in the hillsides of the Picturesque Village of Pernand Vergelesses in Côte De Beaune. The family owned winery works hard to produce wines that are an elegant expression of their region.
The Denis family cultivates 13.5 hectares of vineyards. With southwest orientation, the marl limestone soils are ideal for Chardonnay. To encourage biodiversity, the vineyard rows are grassed over.
This Chardonnay wine is fermented in French oak barrels to find and create its own elegant structure and then aged in French oak for 12 months. The results are beautiful white and red wines with citrus fruits, almonds and mineral aromas. The wines are enjoyable young or after several years of cellaring.
