About Jean Pierre Bailly
The Bailly family has been making wine in Tracy-sur-Loire, in the heart of Pouilly-Fumé, for six generations. The father and son team of Jean Pierre and Patrice Bailly work closely together to produce a Pouilly-Fumé of authentic, traditional character from vines up to 40 years old. Their wines are made in a classic and elegant style and made to improve with age. Father and son make wines of character and refuse to give way to modern easy-drinking trends.
The family cultivates 18 hectares (39 acres) of vineyards planted on hillsides in Tracy-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain and Pouilly-sur-Loire. The soils are predominatly made of limestone and Kimmeridgian marl with some calcareous patches.
