VINEYARDS: 15-45 year old vines.
WINEMAKER: Frederico Gomes, resident winemaker Gilberto Marques.
AGING: Malolactic fermentation of Touriga Nacional in new French oak. 20 months in French oak barrels, 50% new, 50% with 2-3 years of use.
TASTING NOTES: Deep, ruby red. Complex aromas of ripe fruit layered with spicy notes of pepper and tobacco. Good structure and balance with dense flavors of rich black fruits and a long finish.
PAIRINGS: Roasts, meat dishes and flavorful cheeses.
