IN THE VINEYARD:

APPELLATION: Toscana Igt

VINEYARDS: Mountain vineyards around the tiny village of Bacchereto in Carmignano

VARIETALS: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot

FARMING: Organic, not certified.

PLOUGHING: The soil cover is maintained. Annual ploughing.

SOILS: Blend of marl and limestone

WEATHER: Mediterranean

VINES: Traditional Trellis. 5000 vines/ Ha. 6 tons/Ha

HARVEST: Entirely made by hand in small crates on the 2nd half of September

IN THE CELLAR:

FERMENTATION: With the native yeasts from the Estate in Small stainless steel tanks

TREATMENTS: No chaptalization and acidification at all. The idea is to stay natural as much as possible.

PRESSING: Traditional.

MALOLACTIC: Spontaneous, if any.

OAK BARREL AGING: No.

FINING/ FILTRATION: The wine is allowed to settle naturally by gravity and is only minimally fined or filtered.

SULFITES: Minimum

WINEMAKER: Dr. Andrea Bernardini

PHILOSOPHY: We believe that the best wines are born in the vineyard.

TASTING NOTES: Intense and lively ruby red color, with notes of red berries emerging on the nose. The aromatics burst of cherry and currants, followed by hints of spice. The palate flows with a silky entry that lets freshness and an elegant tannin emerge, characteristics that blend harmoniously for a balanced and persistent finish.
