ABOUT ZANASI AZIENDA AGRICOLA
The Zanasi family tradition of winemaking has been passed down for four generations. In the 1900s, Luigi Zanasi worked in the fields and also had his own humble winery with eight small wooden barrels that he would distribute to surrounding towns. His son Bruno similarly had a passion and love for agriculture and farming. Once he returned from World War II, he bought a small plot of land and began cultivating grapes and producing wine with the help of his wife and two children, Marinella and Luigi. Today, the winery has grown into what is now Zanasi Azienda Agricola.
Bruno Zanasi, who is approaching his ninetieth year, still works in the winery ensuring the family traditions stay strong. Marinella and Luigi along with their families manage the estate. The Zanasi family continues to make wines where authenticity and simplicity still prevail.
Lambrusco Grasparossa is made in Castelvetro. Grasparossa de Castilvetro, located south of the town of Modena, is the smallest Lambrusco wine producing region . The region is home to Grasparossa of which the DOC requires 85% of the wine to be composed of. The wine of this region is typically dry and full bodied with a deep purplish-red coloring. Grasparossa produces the most tannic Lambrusco. Our wines are 100% estate made with our own vines.
