Dissegna Sparkling Rosé … Prosecco Rosé Next Year!

This Rosé is an elegant pink color with delicate aromas of red berries, raspberries and strawberries, and lively small bubbles. As of 2021, this wine can be officially referred to as a Prosecco Rosé.

Podere San Michele is a brilliant straw yellow color with aromas of apple, pear, and apricots, and notes of freshly baked bread. It is fresh and full bodied with lively bubbles.

Dissegna winery was founded in Veneto, Italy in 1925. Third generation vigneron Francesco Dissegna is now proud to continue the work and commitment made by his father and grandfather. One of the most enduring lessons Francesco learned was the importance of respecting nature and following its rhythms: “The vine is like a mother and every wine is its creation, with a well-defined personality that reflects the originality of the territory.” In accordance with this inherited regard for nature, Francesco converted his farming to organic practices in 1998, a decision he refers to as “a choice of life and work.”

90 Points and a Best Buy from Wine Enthusiast for Mehofer Klassik Grüner Veltliner 2019!

We want to take a moment to congratulate Mehofer for a fantastic review! Wine Enthusiast has given Mehofer Klassik Grüner Veltliner 2019 90 points and a Best Buy distinction! This organic wine has a fresh nose of apple and herbs with nutty notes. It's delicate and elegant on the palate with continued balanced flavors of fruit and herbs, and a medium body.

The Mehofer family has lived and farmed the land in Neudeggerhof, Austria for 10 generations, over 300 years! In 1992, they became one of the first wineries in the area to convert to 100% organic production.

Stephan Mehofer, grower, winemaker and head of the 10th generation, goes beyond using organic methods by dry farming the vineyards and seeding the rows with a mix of clover, buckwheat, and radishes to encourage biodiversity. He deeply believes in the philosophy of making the wine on the vineyard, comparing the grapes to musicians in an orchestra and explaining “The winemaker, as a conductor, only spreads what already exists." As a result, he employs as few interventions as possible in the cellar, using no winemaking additives and only lightly fining or filtering.

Reviews for Eco Terreno!

We want to take a moment to congratulate Eco Terreno in Sonoma County for several fantastic reviews from James Suckling! Our favorite is the barrel-fermented Chardonnay! In his 92 point review, James Suckling described it as having an "impressive array of peach and nectarine aromas and flavors on offer, with a more savory thread to the palate that carries subtle, biscuity, savory flavors at the finish. This wine has impressive composure." We couldn't agree more! Congrats again to winemaker Mark Lyon and the entire Eco Terreno team!

Eco Terreno is a biodynamic, estate winery laid out on the rolling hills of Alexander Valley in Sonoma, California. The winery staunchly believes that to become successful farmers and winemakers, it must first create a healthy native ecosystem for its vineyards. As such, the winery is certified biodynamic by Demeter and organic by Stellar! Headed by owner/winemaker Mark Lyons, the results of Eco Terreno's hard work are unique, expressive, alive wines that reflect the unique character of the vineyards.

An Outstanding Review for L'Arpenty Chinon 2018!

We are proudly sharing this review with a 92 points score for L'Arpenty Chinon Cabernet Franc 2018 from Decanter Magazine!

The Desbourdes family have lived and cultivated vines on this Estate since 1927. It is located near the town of Chinon in the Loire Valley. The family still uses the property’s historic cellar that is dug into the hillside.

Today, 4th generation winemaker Emilien Desbourdes lovingly farms his vines using certified organic methods. His aim is not only to respect the environment, but also to produce unique wines that express his family's vineyards. No chemicals are used (insecticides or herbicides). Instead, native ‘weeds’ are allowed to grow between rows and trees and hedges are planted near the vines when possible to encourage biodiversity. Debudding and thinning are both done by hand.

The result of all of Emilien’s hard work are only 2,500 cases a year of wines of depth and complexity.

Wecome Tenute di Fraternita and Colline San Biagio!

Today, we are excited to announce two Tuscan wineries: Tenute di Fraternita and Colline San Biagio. Both of these historic producers have been making wine for centuries and have achieved many scores in the high 90s.

Colline San Biagio is located in Carmignano, in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. This family-owned property has been making wine since the early 1800s, driven by tradition and respect for the land.
Meticulous care in tending the vineyards and hand-harvesting only the best grapes produces unique wines with a sense of place.

Tenute di Fraternita is nestled in the hills of Castiglion Fibocchi and Civitella, where the vineyards are in the ideal environment for Sangiovese. Tenute farms to maintain sustainable vineyards. Here, all grapes are hand-harvested and no enzymes or yeasts are added in order to allow the most natural and traditional product.

World-Famous Castelli di Jesi Wines!

Did you know that Italy's Castelli di Jesi has been nicknamed the "white Barolo"? The historic and famous Verdicchio wines from this Marche region are known for their profound depth of complexity and ability to age. At the Piersanti Winery, family and regional traditions are the driving force behind their classic winemaking style. Here, they make their Verdicchio as delicately as possible to maintain its fresh and unique flavor profile. Because the grapes are gently pressed, only the best juice is obtained and used for their wines— yielding a product that is equally complex and elegant.
