Rancio Soleras from De Muller

De Muller Rancio Soleras are maade following an ancient winemaking Mediterranean tradition that has been preserved over centuries. Native grapes have undergone a long aging in neutral wooden casks, creating a slow controlled oxidation that will slowly create complex and unique aromas. A gradual oxidation in the wine due to ambient temperature exposure together with the age of the barrels and the climate conditions in the area result in a Rancio of exceptionally unique characteristics.

La Perla Rioja Alta Reserva 2014 receives 93 points & Best Buy from Wine & Spirits Magazine.

Our goal is to produce wines that respect tradition and the environment. The farming is organic and the rows are grassed over. We encourage biodiversity and the dynamic it brings to the viticulture. Our vineyards are located in and around Fuenmayor, in the heart of Rioja Alta. The mountains and continental climate offer perfect conditions for Tempranillo. The altitude of the vineyards is higher than in most of Rioja, resulting in wines of with good freshness.

The grapes are carefully hand harvested and the winery, spontaneous fermentation takes place with the native yeasts. No winemaking additives are used and the wines are very minimally fined or filtered. The resulting wines are traditional in style, with great balance. The concentration of the fruit comes from the hard work in and great care of the vineyards. Javier Pérez Ruiz de Vergara-Winemaker.

Vinabade Albarino 2020 receives 91 points from Mundus Vini.

Located in the heart of the Salnes Valley, Viñabade was founded by Manuel Vázquez 50 years ago. The second generation of the family, sister and brother Myriam and Manuel Vázquez, now run the winery. They select the best grapes from their own vineyard to produce wines of character and personality.

The name "Viñabade" means "Abbot's Vineyard" in the Galician language, a reference to the Cluny monks who are believed to have brought Albariño to the area from Burgundy in the 12th or 13th century. The winery is located in Val do Salnés, the oldest sub-zone of Rias Baixas. Val do Salnés, located on the Atlantic coast, is known as the birthplace of the Albariño grape. The granitic soil and cool Atlantic climate provide perfect growing conditions for Albariño, producing elegant, fresh and crisp wines.

De Vecci Negroamaro Salento

Our vineyards are located just a few miles north of Lecce, in the Salento Peninsula. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, it is the southernmost tip of Puglia, a tongue of land between the Adriatic and Ionian seas. The Mediterranean climate is known for its sun and for the regular sea breezes, which waft through the vineyards and help to keep the vines healthy.

The soils are predominantly clay-calcareous, reddish terre rosse and rocky, mineral-rich soils, contributing to the personality of our wines. We believe that wine must be made, first and foremost in the vineyard and we pay particular attention to traditional agricultural practices, aimed at respecting the environment, and capable of producing healthy grapes.

Life here flows in contact with nature among vineyards and centuries-old olive groves with patches of native holm-oak (leccio). We grow only native varietals. No chemicals are used (fertilizers, pesticides, additives. The vineyards are dry farmed and the grapes are harvested by hand.

The winemaker, Piero Serio, is a native of the town and the third generation of the family to make wine. Negroamaro is the local king varietal, a native grape with a tight, compact cluster; the grapes exudes spicy Mediterranean scrub and liquorice root. The Negroamaro vines are trained in either the traditional alberello, or low bush style, or to a low vertical-trellis.

Fermentation happens spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts that are naturally present on the skin of the grapes; it takes place in concrete tanks, the wine then rest in large traditional oak barrels in our cellar. No winemaking additives are used and the wines are certified as Organic in the EU.

Ricominciare Malbec Cabernet Franc 2019 receives 91 points from James Suckling.

In 1902, Nicolás Catena arrived in Argentina from Italy. In Finca La Libertad in Mendoza, he continued an ancient tradition in new lands. Jorge, his grandson, inherited this legacy and passion for winemaking. Today, Viviana Catena, Jorge's daughter, and her family continue the traditional winemaking methods passed down by their great-grandfather.

Ricominciare only uses grapes from their San Vicente Vineyard, in La Consulta, Valle de Uco. This vineyard has been in the family for more than 50 years. Deep sandy soils, the high altitude of the vineyards and the water coming from the thaw of the Andes Mountains combine to create wines of unique personality.

The harvest is done 100% by hand. Only native yeasts are used and fermentation is done in small tanks plot by plot. The wines are bottled with no fining and only a very light filtration. The aim is always elegance.

Punta Corral 2018 receives 94 points from Vinous!

We are happy to share that Vinous has reviewed Puntacorral 2018 with 94 points!

Bodega Fernando Dupont 2018 Punta Corral
Maimará, Quebrada De Humahuaca, Northern Region

The 2018 Punta Corral, a 40/40/20 Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend from Maimará, Quebrada de Humahuaca, spent 12 months in used oak. This vintage stands out for its Punta Corral style, which is achieved with remarkable precision given the wild nature of the Humahuaca terroir. Characterful with hints of wet stone, paprika and flesh, the nose is nuanced with crystal clear raspberry and herbal aromas. Intense in the mouth, the new but pleasantly gentle tannins enhance the juicy, well balanced structure, with a slight kick of alcohol (15%) that brings greater energy.

Drinking window: 2022 - 2032
