VARIETAL:Field Blend
VINEYARDS: Small farm lots in Las Compuertas & Luján de Cuyo (Grosso, Cremasci, Hurtado). Planted between 1954 to 1966.
SOIL: Alluvial with a loamy horizon on a rocky subsoil with calcium carbonate.
FARMING: Double guyot pruning; hand harvested into 40 lb cases first week of February. 7000 to 7500 plants per hectare.
WINEMAKING: Destemmed grape cold maceration for 4 days. Fermentation with native yeasts in concrete eggs with 4 daily punch-downs at controlled temperatures for 24 days. Malolactic fermentation in the concrete egg at controlled temperatures.
AGING: In concrete eggs without epoxy
BOTTLING: September 7th.
TASTING NOTES: Intense violet in color, aromas of blackberry, cassis and dark cherry, with delicate floral hints. Round in the mouth, the wine unfolds with balance, freshness and elegance.
