Steinschaden. Kamptal.

We are thrilled to announce some new arrivals from the makers of Brunn, including also 20L Zweigelt Red key kegs. Karl and Godfried Steinschaden’s family has lived and farmed the land in Engabrunn for 6 generations. The family is dedicated to traditional practices and the farming is being converted to organic.

The harvest is done 100% by hand in small cases. Brunn practices traditional fermentation in small tanks in order to reflect the elegant characteristics of its vineyards. The winery has a very old historic subterranean cellar where their wines can mature in perfect conditions. Large neutral Slavonian Oak vats are used to prevent the wood from overpowering the wine. The optimal vineyard soils and climate produce high quality, elegant wines with unique flavors.

Their Ried Stein vineyard is listed as one of only 52 "Erste Lage" vineyards in Austria, recognized for their unique and exceptional terroir. The winery also owns the oldest traditional basket press in this part of Europe, dating back to 1564 A.D. This Renaissance era basket press has never left the village. Originally used by the Benedictine Abbey of Göttweig, which had vineyards in Engabrunn.

Lindeza Alvarinho Reserva

Our vineyards are located in the Lima Valley in the North of Portugal, bordering the Minho River and Galicia. It is a region of deep valleys crossed by clear water streams and a rugged terrain of enormous beauty and biodiversity. This unique and traditional landscape is marked by small vineyards and quaint villages.

The cooling influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the granitic soils produce elegant wines with delicate aromas and freshness. Winemaker, José Oliveira has been working in the region for more than 30 years. Born and raised in Ponte da Barca, wine was always his passion.

Mithra Cotes du Rhone

We work our vineyards with passion, respecting Humanity and Nature. Following in the footsteps of our ancestors, with knowledge and expertise being passed down from generation to generating. Careful pruning in the harshness of winter, vineyard grassing to preserve the life of the soil, green harvest to maintain small yields so that each bay can give its full potential. Time and again, searching for this fine balance between the hand of man and the expression of soil to bring together a wine expressing all the facets of our terroirs.

Mithra, the Indo-Persian God, whose function is to look after the truth and the course of the world, is depicted on a magnificent bas-relief of Bourg Saint Andéol in the the Rhone Valley.

The vineyards spreads out on steep terraces located around the village of Bourg Saint Andéol. The soil is rich in pebbles. VARIETAL: 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah, estate grown

Domaine Denis Rose D'Anjou.

Founded in 1930 by Jules-Emile Denis, the Estate has spent 4 generations under the care of the Denis family.

The family’s motto is ‘quality and respect for life.’ As such, they not only pay close attention to the interplay between the soil and vine, but also to the care and maintenance of those soils. They are committed to both the short-term production of quality wines and the long-term health of the land. They avoid the use of chemical treatments and use environmentally friendly practices, such as grassing over the vine rows or working the soil, to avoid the use of weed killer. The results of this meticulous, year round care, are wines that are an excellent expression of the vineyards, vines and family who carefully tend them.

Esentia Rioja

Our vineyards have been part of our family for several generations. We aim to make wine that fully expresses the character of the place they are both from, starting in the vineyards we know so well.

We have a deep respect for our family vineyards and follow biodynamic practices. The vineyards are all dry farmed and are not tilled. The soil is fertilized by the native plants natural cover. No chemicals are used.

Tasting Panel gives 93 points to Opal Gin.

Produced just south of Barcelona, in Tarragona, for several generations of Jordi Montserrat’s family. The long list of botanicals are sourced locally from local Mediterranean growers. Orange blossom floats out of the glass and then sweetens on first sip. Juniper is present but subdued. This is such an expressive spirit, that one can picture the pastel colors of the flavors that rise up and shift across the mouth from beginning to finish: lavender, vanilla, and grapefruit zest among them. A charmer.

La Perla Rioja Alta Reserva 2014. 93 points & Top 100 Best Buy Wine & Spirits Magazine.

Our goal is to produce wines that respect tradition and the environment. The farming is organic and the rows are grassed over. We encourage biodiversity and the dynamic it brings to the viticulture. Our vineyards are located in and around Fuenmayor, in the heart of Rioja Alta. The mountains and continental climate offer perfect conditions for Tempranillo. The altitude of the vineyards is higher than in most of Rioja, resulting in wines of with good freshness.

The grapes are carefully hand harvested and the winery, spontaneous fermentation takes place with the native yeasts. No winemaking additives are used and the wines are very minimally fined or filtered. The resulting wines are traditional in style, with great balance. The concentration of the fruit comes from the hard work in and great care of the vineyards. Javier Pérez Ruiz de Vergara-Winemaker.

Miro Daughters Naturalment Blanc and Serendipity Red now in stock!

We are very excited to have the Miro Daughters Naturalment Blanc and Serendipity Red now in stock.

Jordi Miro’s passion for wine started at an early age. As a child, he worked in his family’s vineyards alongside his father, Miguel Miro. There he learned to prune, plow, cultivate, and harvest. The family has been growing grapes in the region for generations - Jordi’s maternal grandfather had his own small winery, while his paternal grandfather, Jaume, was a renowned grafter in the region and an expert grower.

After having worked most of his life for other wineries, Jordi planted his own 5 Ha (12.5 acres) of vineyards in 1999. The vines lie within the Terres de l’Ebre Biosphere Reserve. The soils are calcareous and poor in organic matter. The vineyard is organically farmed with no irrigation and no chemicals are used (pesticides, fertilizer, additives, etc). The grapes are hand harvested and the average yield in the vineyard is less than 3 lbs per vine.

In 2009, Jordi began to construct his own small winery. He built it himself, brick by brick. Traditionally in Terra Alta, whites and reds were produced by extended skin contact. Jordi's wines combine traditional methods with a modern touch. He does spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, uses no winemaking additives and the wines are very minimally fined or filtered. Sulfite levels are below 60 mg/L.

Jordi still uses the lessons he learned from his father, doing all the work himself. He prunes, plows, thins the vines, harvests, ferments, rakes, cleans the vats and bottles the wine. Harvest starts with the first light of the day and is done by hand, into small cases. Jordi’s philosophy is to do as much as possible in the vineyard to create the wine there, and then just do minimal intervention in the winery.

Jordi's daughters Aida and Andrea are following now the family tradition with the release of these two new wines.
