VARIETAL: 100% Cabernet Franc

VINEYARD: Finca Victoria, Las Compuertas; 3,500 ft altitude; low trellis system

SOILS: Sandy soil with river boulders below.

FARMING: Organic with clover cover crop; double guyot pruning; hand harvested into 40 lb cases middle of April (differentiated according to soil type)

WINEMAKING: Whole grape cold maceration for 3 days. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts on the skins in concrete eggs with 3 daily pisonages for 20 days. 35 days

AGING: 7 months in unlined (no epoxy) concrete eggs

BOTTLING: February 1st. 416 cases made.

TASTING NOTES: Vivid red color with violet hints. Inviting aromas of  blackberries, blueberries, plums and violets, with layers of cassis, herbs and earthy notes. Fresh and wide on the palate with a firm mid-mouth, fine grained, rounded tannins and good balance with a long finish.
