La Perla comes from a long family history dating back to 1910. Grandfather Don Montaña dedicated himself to crafting and aging wines through traditional methods. Today, his grandchildren continue to create wines that represent their grandfather’s passion for winemaking.
The winery is located in Fuenmayor – Rioja Alta. The continental climate offers a distinctive characteristic for the cultivation of the Tempranillo.
The winery uses traditional vineyards and winemaking practices. They use natural organic fertilizers to keep the vines and soils healthy. The rows are grassed over and the grapes are all hand-harvested.
As a result, the wines are traditional with a great balance of fruit and oak. The concentration of the fruit comes from the hard work in and great care of the vineyards. These wines are an authentic expression of Rioja.
